Tips for answering
- Pick one recent example you actually know something about. It could be a new technology, an app, a law, or a local rule, big or small.
- Explain clearly who benefits and how, then consider who might lose out, struggle, or be left behind.
- Show balanced thinking. The strongest answers recognise that most changes have both winners and losers.
- Finish with your own view on what should happen next, and give a reason for it. There's no right answer, we want to see how you think.
Tips for answering
- Choose an issue you genuinely care about. It can be as close to home as something in your school or as broad as a global challenge.
- Explain why it matters to you personally, whether through your own experience, something you've witnessed, or something you've learned about.
- Suggest one realistic first step you could take. Small, practical actions are just as impressive as big ideas.
- Show initiative and honest thinking. We're not expecting you to solve the problem, we want to see that you care and can think about how change starts.
